During our onboarding process, we collect information from our clients for two purposes. Firstly, to identify our clients, such as their identity, residency, and field of business. Secondly, to identify the lands registered with us for the purpose of assessing ecosystem services.
The first type of information is required under the laws that apply to Single.Earth activities. We comply with laws on the prevention of money laundering and terrorism financing, as well as those for establishing financial sanctions. We carefully assess the collected information to ensure that Single.Earth services are not used in connection with any financial crime.
Single.Earth OÜ is a virtual asset service provider authorised by the Estonian Financial Intelligence Unit, incorporated in Estonia with registered number FVT000524 and registered address at Volta 1, 10411, Tallinn, Estonia.
The information about lands is crucial for ensuring the accuracy of our assessments of ecosystem services and for ensuring that MERIT tokens are issued to those who hold rights to the lands signed up with us. We collect and process this information to provide a reliable service to all users.
We aim to provide a seamless user experience with Single.Earth and ask for as little information as possible (while still meeting requirements). However, as natural and legal environments differ across countries, we may need to ask additional or different questions from clients. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
At Single.Earth, we prioritize the security of data and assets of our clients and cooperation partners. For this reason, we have established internal systems and controls to ensure data security. Personal data is processed in accordance with GDPR requirements, and our data processing principles are detailed in our Privacy Policy.
